I like the prothanes but I'm not sure if I like the stacked pucks up top ( no offense... ) do you know of any other alternatives to the pucks?

I just tapped the hole in the old bumpstop mount and bolted the puck in. You could do the same thing but substitute a round metal plate if you want. Just need something to cover the top of the coil insert so you're not digging into it with the old mount.

Do you cut the prothanes to size?

Edit: can you?

You can. I bought some 7" ones and copied the NAXJA write up. Prothanes won't work with my new axle swap though.

94xj did you use hockey pucks or fab something up..

I think want to go the route of making a steel top plate. If anyone has done this I would like to see some pics

Google the NAXJA prothane write up.

I made a 1.5" DOM and 1/4" top piece and had a 1" piece of UHMW inside as a hard stop.

If your XJ has removable jounce cups, you could countersink bolts into two pucks, one for top and bottom

I was told you can just make a plate that sits right on top of the prothane and be good to go. No need to bolt it to the frame.

that's how mine was. I used 1.5 tube and 1/4" plate to contact the bumpstop tower.

I did. Just used a hot razor blade and cut off the top ring on the ones I bought.

I used threaded pipe 1.5" diameter, welded to a washer or steel disk 2.75" diameter.
On coil bucket, a small stack of 1.5" washers holds prothane in place. If needed a rubber insert will act as a final stop.
Picture is a prototype, I have been experimenting with the prothanes.

Ok.... The seller told me that that their was a mistake in inventory and all they had is red in stock. I need them so I told him to ship them asap. My question now is are they paintable. I was thinking something like krylon plastic fusion paint. If anyone has experience with this please let me know.
