87 jeep cherokee pioneer..after i bought the jeep i realized the 4wd did not work.i replaced the motor on the front axle and 4x4 works but only when the green hose is not plugged in,i know this for the light and with it unplugged the light stays on but it does go from 2wd to 4wd and works good,i plugged the green hose with a screw,is it ok to run like this and with the light on all the time??

 

Only problem I see is it'll burn out the bulb over time. On my YJ I just flipped the shift fork and did away with the motor all together.

 

so you had it locked in 4x4 all the time?i dont get how it will **** from 2wd to 4wd without the vacum motor

All the vacuum motor does is lock the two piece axle together, your t-case shifter shifts it from 2 to 4wd.

 

i might just leave it as is.not too concerned about burning out the bulb.just as long as that wont cause further issues
