Chop? cut the cargo section of the roof and move you hatch forward lol. Thats what i did ha cost me maybe 20 bucks in bondo and paint

Wash it.
Wander around and make sure everything is tight.
Check tire pressure and fluid levels.
Grease the undercarriage.
Lube any squeaky hinges.

Pick one part at a time... clean, polish, or paint, and reassemble. Repeat until everything is perfect.
Believe it or not, I did this with one of my old project cars. After about 6 months of spare time, it had the cleanest and prettiest engine bay you have ever seen.
