It was part of my project during winter break.

For everyone in Canada there is the Staang's Fab frame stiffeners

http://staangsfab.com/products-1/jeep-cherokee-xj/

I just got a set of his stiffeners and his long arm upgrade and his 8.8 swap kit.

I went with T&T ones. There pretty much local to me. There great product, and are a little thick then others, plus the price is right. I would choose T&T over any other company when it comes to parts. Bob and Mary stand behind then stuff and will always help if something is wrong or if you are not happy.

Anyone ever looked at or know anything about the combined frame stiffener/ rocker guards from Detours? I was looking to get them.

Those are pretty nice! I plan on making my own sliders off the stiffeners once I get them on

I have the TnT stiffeners and love them! I drilled about 15 rosette weld holes in each side to add a little more weld area, but I dont think they really needed it. I recently bought the TnT longarm kit, and a set of the chassis stiffeners extensions, and I cant wait to get those on!! I love TnT customs, Bob(owner), mary(owners wife), and Rod(General manager) really know what they are doing and really stand behind thier products. I would get them again if i got another XJ, and will always recomend them to others

How will 1/4" instead of say, 3/16" cause problems? Especially like metal ripping apart.

i couldnt tell you the math about it, but when you weld something super strong to something not-so-strong, what do you think will give? 1/4" steel or whatevr thin gauge sheetmetal the uniframe is made from?

I don't know the science either, but some good reading on pirate learned me that more steel and more welding does not always mean stronger when it comes to uniframe stiffening

here's my HD mids up. not finished welding or cleaning in this pic. but I was very happy with the fitment. I dented my frame in a couple places and I was still able to mold the thin 10ga for a fairly snug fit. my sloppy steering even feels a little tighter. it was totally worth the money to buy these too. cutting and drilling all those holes would not have been fun

Definitely agree with your response kind sir! 1/4 would be wayyyy to thick to try to weld to the factory thickness. But those looks good atmos! I can't wait to get mine on! I feel like in slackin cause I have those to put on, I have one side of my frame like halfway prepped for it, I have a winch I need to make a new front bumper for and put on, and I need to finish some other little projects

So 3/16" is thin enough to not do this? Yes 1/4" would be way over kill, and extremely heavy, but really no different than 3/16" in any other way. If the unibody is going to flex and crack with 1/4" its going to flex and crack with any thing else.
