I am going to be doing a diesel swap. Jeep is 2wd. Going to keep it that way. I would however like to have disc brakes on that 8.25 axle. I see kits. They are extremely expensive. Is there a diy way to put discs on my jeep?

8.25 is a Chrysler axle and 8.8 is a ford axle
Like the guy above said, 8.8 comes with disc brakes but if u got a 8.25, it's plenty strong if u keeping it with stock tires, u can do disc brake conversion on it

You can get the rear disc brakes from any ZJ that came with them. For the C8.25 you'll have to hone the backing plates some to fit over the axle. Forum member "Big David" is currently selling kits. Look for his for sale thread and get in line.

I just bought a 96 ZJ rear axle, disc brake version, for 50 bucks. Look at pull a parts and on c-list for people parting out ZJs and Libertys. Easy upgrade.

It's 2wd, why bother swapping rear ends?
Like mark said, their are kits from people here on CF or all over the interwebs if you can't source something local.
