Default FlowKooler Water Pump feedback?

Hi everyone,

Its getting to be that time where I will be replacing parts of my cooling system and was looking into water pumps. Does anyone on these forums run flowkoolers in their jeeps? Any pos/neg feedback is appreciated.

Thanks!
George

My flow kooler pump works just fine and keeps it way cooler than a stock pump

Default Flowkooler pumps for Jeeps

They have new impellers now for the Jeeps. http://www.flowkoolerwaterpumps.com/info/mirakool.html

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I actually just ended up ordering one off of Quadratec Monday morning and received it Tuesday afternoon. The install should be later this week.

That's interesting about the new impellers, but it doesn't look like they sell them on their site.

I have read about the impeller situation but I wonder how likely that will happen to mine. Has this product fit well for those who've ordered it?

Thanks,
George

Since it looks like the improved impeller pushes about 2x as much coolant - I am wondering how many HP that takes and how much more fuel does the engine burn moving the extra water. Also, is there any greater risk of component failure (heater core, radiator, hoses) with the extra volume/velocity of the coolant.

If you are just off-roading/rock crawling - lower speeds, it is probably not a problem and it's worth it. If your vehicle is a daily-driver - I question the benefit.

Any thoughts on that?

I may have to look into one of these. On my last trip out, when I was working my way through a rock bed, the temps started to creep up a little bit. Thinking about going this route along with some hood louvers.
