Flash ECM? Manifold swap & bored TB
1996 XJ 4.0
Planning on intake swap to 99. and a bored throttle body.
Already have upgraded injectors and 2.5" exhaust.
Do I need to reset the computer after installing either one to activate the 'adaptive learning'.
Maybe I should install one at a time and see what happens?

Yes you should flash the ECM, which is pretty easy.
I recommend you do it two seperately. If something f** up your jeep, you will want to know what caused it.

Flash = reprogramming. A lot of people think it means reset, though.
You can do the special "reset computer memory" dance if you feel like it, same one you'd do if you replace injectors. However it defaults to factory fuel maps and will eat gas until 40 warmup cycles have been recorded. Just drive it and let it adapt.

Thank you Salad.
I now know the correct terms and realize the difference between 'flash' and 'reset'.
I will take your advice and not reset it.
Also, I got injectors from PrecisionAutoInjectors.com. They said a 'reset' is not necessary because the injectors flow the same as stock, but more atomized.
I had already installed them and reset before they told me that.
