Default Flares on trim fenders

Sorry if it's a noob question. Owned my tj for years and this is my first xj. I cut my fenders last night to fit 33s under my 3" lift. But they stick out really far and I'll get pulled over all the time in MA. So I was going to buy some rivet flares..but now that the fender opening is wider, how would a flare made for the normal fender width work? Thanks

Some just use double sided tape from 3M like the side molding. Other just drill new holes for bolts or rivets if the cut isn't too big for the flare. Either way you'll have to trim some of the flare to fit right. Mess with it and think of some ideas.

Use tj flares on it, if done right it looks good. Not my jeep.

Ya I planned on just drilling new holes. That's no problem..I just know the width of my fender now is about 2" wider than before. Guess it's hard to say without having the flares in my hand to line them up. I'll just have to order them I guess qnd see what happens!

I love that look, but on higher jeeps like yours. I bought the jeep with flares, I believe they were stock xj ones, and they did nothing for these tires lol

They were stock. TJ flares are as wide as most aftermarket flares, using all rear flares look the best imo

I'm thinking of doing the rivet/pocket flares whatever you want to call them. I like them on xjs

Go with Napier, don't waste your money on Bushwacker or Rugged Ridge. They don't offer much clearance but more width over stock. Flat flares on the other hand are a different story.

I just don't want to spend the money on the flats. The xj is my 3rd offroad vehicle right now so most of my money and time go to my tj and f150. Just want to gain some coverage. When I owned the pocket ones on my tj at one point in time, I trimmed them about an inch off the lip to give me some more clearance while keeping the width
