For background I've got a 92, 4.0, AW4, 4-door, with KYB monomax shocks and 30x9.5 hankook RF10 ATM's, and a custom bumper that is more suited for an abrams than my 3200lb XJ.
I'm about to order a 3in rustys lift kit with new leaf packs and 180lb coils, and i'm going to need new bumpstops because both front and back have one missing and one completely trashed. So I got to thinking
, that if i got smaller bumpstops, my suspension could gain some travel and with a set of fender flares I wouldnt be rubbing too bad either. So how crazy am I, will it work and what are my bumpstop options? Yes I did search but I didnt find much.
Thanks for any help.

My Father in-law put tennis ***** in his coils. He runs his in the Baja 1000. He says it works as a cheap bump stops and reduces the rattling when running the course.

The flares won't really do anything for rubbing, the cutting required to install them will. If you're lookin to do it on the cheap, just trim and don't burn the coin for flares unless you're required. Better yet cut the fenders and then make flares to fit your cut since a lot of flares don't require much metal removal.

Driving on the street without a front sway is suicide, I don't care how you spin it. And no, bump stops have ZERO affect on body sway.
