Default Fixing Bad TC Drop Drill & Tap

Alright, so when i lifted my jeep this past summer I also installed a TC drop. I had to cut, drill, and tap the holes since all the bolts/studs broke. Problem is, the drill and tap jobs are not very good. They hold, and are still holding fine, but I dont like taking chances with anything vehicle related so i'd like to make them "safer".

I've come up with two options for this.

Option 1:

Cut out the tapped holes , get some 1/4in steel plate, drill a hole in it and tack weld a nut on the other side. Weld the plate to the unibody so the nut would be on the inside of the unibody rail.

Option 2: I actually saw this on Xtreme 4X4

Get a metal hole saw, cut out the crappy tap, take a washer, tac weld the nut to the washer, and weld the washer to the frame rail same as option 1.

The washed option seems easier, but it also seems weaker. Any suggestions?

I'd cut into the side, cut out the old nuts clean everything up and then tack in some new nuts, then take some steel and weld up the side u cut into. Problem solved.
