my toe in is just over 1/4". does that mean my camber is changed? i wonder at what point of lift (how many inches above stock) your balljoints are perpendicular to the ground...?

Well my pinion angle was already correct so it couldn't be that. so if you look at the front steering you can see how if the front of the tires is being pulled inward (towards one another) it would also create a bind and pull the bottoms of the tires inward as well. I got the results and all my measurements are correct now. Seems like it can't be argued with. It's a lot better than some moron telling me the front axle is bent hahaha start looking at the Cherokees in your city most have camber that is off. So each one of these have a bent axle?!?! Bull.

That's close to how it should be yes. Your front tires should toe in around 1/4" - 1/8" that way when you accelerate they will be pulled back and almost level. If anyone wants to see how it's adjusted and your rig doesn't have a camber problem then go out to your rig and adjust the tie rod so that it causes your tires to toe inward. Drive the vehicle back then forth in a straight line and it will more than likely mess up your camber. When you lift your rig and then correct your pinion angle and actually have it pointed at your t case. Then that will also bring your tie rod lower. So if your tie rod isn't adjusted for this new angle it will pull your tires in and also now that the tie rod is lower (from the axle rotation) it will bring the bottoms of your tires inward as well. I don't give the best explanation sorry. But I have fixed this problem on two rigs now with correct results.

i thought you were supposed to have a bit of toe out, not toe in?
EDIT: did some quick research, I was wrong, toe in FTW

i was being a goof. factory front has a certain degree of positive caster. when you lift the front end, that caster will roll towards vertical (negative move). this messes up the factory toe (partially because of the factory y-link steering) and camber at the same time ( i've read that factory caster is 2 degrees to the negative on the passenger side compared to the driver on cherokees). factory steering and control arms can only be adjusted a small amount to compensate for this. so with all these problems, this is why they invented eccentric ball joints, camber bushings ( i would think those would be kinda hard on the nuts) and why aftermarket steering and control arms are so common (and needed). some guys cut the inner c's and rotate them too. and now they've invented cv camber snouts for floating axles...you won't see that on a dana30, but...it's pretty cool.

Actually, I believe with a 242 t-case, since it has FT 4wd capability that toe is supposed to be "zero"
And with 231/other supposed to be 1/8-1/4 in.
Toe is out on turns..

Ive been reading trough this thread lookn for some info on why my rig has been trying to kill me goin down the road. At first I thought my rigs bad road manners were due to the week unibody trying to hold my 35s in place with the track bar mounted on only one side. But after seeing my tires start to kick out and the problem getting worse I realize its not just that. I ordered some new ball joints from synergy. It wasnt a cheap buy but if it means me living to see another day and my rig not getting totaled, I'll do it. If my parts come in by this weekend ill have them in and I can let yall know the difference. For now here is some pics of how bad my front end is.
