So I've finally saved up enough for the lift I thought I wanted, the 2.5 OME full spring lift but I'm starting to question if that's what I really want.

I have a 92 Briarwood xj and my intensions for lifting are more for show then for play. I want to maintain the classy look of my woody just give it a more aggressive look.

What do you guys think? Will I be satisfied with that lift and 31" tires with those intensions or do you think I should go bigger?

Tell me what you think.

Sounds good. I'd go with 3" if you want some more flex.

Yeah I've just heard great things from the majority of people who run OME. Several people had bad rubbing with 31s so I would prolly play it safe with 30s

I miss my stock 2" 31" look.. I would suggest adj rear shackles so you can even out the back and wheel spacers if you want more of aggressive look, plus it will help keep your 31's from rubbing full turn on ur LCAs

2" with 30s would be better. I get rubbing with 2" and 31s. And i got 4" backspacing.

Well it's technically it's a 2.5 incher but I still would rather play it safe with the 30s then have to hack up my fenders.

I'm riding on stock suspension right now and when I have a passenger and my kayaks on the jeep I rub only with the 235s I'm running now. I'm sure I'll see a huge difference just by lifting 2 inches

After I got 1.5" spacers I didn't rub at all on my stock rims with 31x 10.5 bfg ATs

If I were you I would call Dirk at DPG Offroad if you want an OME lift. Tell him what you are looking to do and he will point you in the right direction with what size lift you will need.
I just placed my order with him last week. I initially was going to go with a 2.5" lift with 31's since I am not going to be off roading at all, but he told me that since my wheels have a BS of 3.75" that I should go with the 3.5" lift if I didn't want to rub or trim my fenders. He said I would be fine if I had stock wheel BS but would be questionable with the 3.75"that I have.

Also if you want the best possible ride with your XJ which I assume you do that is why you want OME lift then stick with the OME brand. I too was on the fence on whether or not I wanted to spend that much money on a lift that was mainly for looks but after I rode in several jeeps with different setups I knew OME was the only way to go for me.

Post some pics when your done!! I just want an even looking lift/tires set up. So many of the lifted xjs look unproportional and I hate the thought of spending all the money and mine turning out like that.

Yeah man I will definitely get some pics up as soon as its installed. Probably wont be for another couple of weeks cause the lift won't be here for atleast another week.

Also I too am very nervous how it is going to look I spent alot of money on the entire setup to make sure it was done right so heres hoping

I'll keep my fingers crossed! Are you installing it yourself?

No but I am going to help. One of the mechanics at work said he would install it for next to nothing. I have seen his work so I trust him with the job.
