A Few Questions
A few questions:
1. When making a DIY cold air intake, what can be used to house the K&N air filter to the engine and to the snorkel?
2. I plan to get a 4.5" lift, i am currently on stock axles. Do I need to upgrade lockers, or gear ratios? Can anyone explain this, I do not fully understand.
3. Where can I buy a full electrical harness for a 1999 XJ? Basically all the wiring under the hood needs to be replaced.
Thanks for your help.

no1 be a little more clear on what your asking house by that you mean no2 lift has nothing to do with gears /locker that comes in to play when over size tire are added. no3 might have to do the dealer on the harness.

1. I currently have a DIY snorkel. I have a K&N filter inline with the snorkel head, above the driver side. I need a housing for the K&N filter so it uses the air from the snorkel head to go into the engine. Currently i am using 2 paint cans that are sealed shut. Is there anything else that can be used?
2. I would like to run 35" tires but on a 4.5" lift i think i can only run 33" tires and still have good flex. I have the tire well fenders cut up as far as possible currently. and stock axles. I was reseraching and I think I need to upgrade my axles to Dana 44s and then put in a air locker so I can turn it on and off. This seems extremely costly though. Am I right in thinking this?
3. Bummer.

You can run on stock axles with 33"s, plenty do. Just take it easy on them. What rear axle do you have? You will probably need lower gearing for 33s or 35s. Lockers aren't a necessity, they are a traction aid. Also 35"s are hard to fit with a 4.5" lift, you would have to do a lot of cutting and big bumpstops probably. 33s will be easier on your axles, easier to fit, and easier on your steering as well.

xj wheel: I wont be doing anything outrageous. Just DD, occasional mudding, mostly will be used on trails and camping. 33" is plenty for me. Depending on my rear axle I think i will lower the gearing on it and put in a locker, the front I think will be fine. Thanks for the information
ericfx1984: I was planning to do just that, when i get home. I am currently in Afghanistan, although they do have a lot of "junkyards" I think i might get in trouble for that here.
