Fat Bob's Garager lift experince.
I'm looking to buy a BB lift kit. I came across this kit from Fat Bob's Garage. I was wondering if any body have experience with this kit. Should i get shocks or buy my own shocks separately?

They're my local off road shop. Good peeps down there. I have been very satisfied with the parts I've bought from them in the past. Here's a little secret, Fat Bob's shocks = Rough Country w/o stickers.

Damn XJ and thier small wheel housing. I am more used to my WJ and can stuff a 31 with just 2 inch lift. I just want to make my XJ more appealing. Will be wheeled couple times tho.

I have the Fat Bob's 2" lift kit in my XJ (photo in my profile). I bought it on EBay. All pretty much fit, but I had to bore the front shock spacers to get them to slide over the bump stop - not a big deal, but shouldn't have been necessary. They might have just put the wrong ones in the box.
After the lift my track bar was over 1/4" - not enough to get too excited about I think, but I have had some bumpsteer issues (another thread).

I also bought this kit off eBay. Great little kit. I too had the same issue with the front spacers but a little force and it slid over the bump stop. I kinda like that because now I wont have to worry about it ever sliding off if I'm ever in a situation where the coil unseats.
Anyways, it's a good kit. I'm very happy with it. Good people and great service. Not one negative thing to say.

I got fat bob's XJ budget boost kit. And Am Very Happy With It.
(2) 2" Shackles
(2) 2" Coil Spacers
(4) Shocks (Rough Country 8000s) (the ones ment for 3"-5" lift)
Install Instructions were straight forward and I was able to do it in 4 hours (we stopped for dinner) a buddy and with some hand tools.
I had No issues with with rusted bolts or bump stop clearance.
And Shipping was super fast. I think it was like 5 days after I paid on the dot the brown uniform came walking up to my house with it.
But Again, Im very satisfied.
Plus the best thing is when I add my new coils and bastard leaf packs I can still re-use everything.
Oh, And I should add Im running 31x10.5R15 with no trimming and only rub when I try and make hard turns, u-turns, or really big bumps.
