Fastest Jeep Cherokee?
I finally got my hunk of jeep to the track and believe I put down some good numbers. Given all the research I've done I think they are the best numbers out there period.
Just to catch people up, it's a 2Dr Cherokee setup to go beat on unsuspecting Honda's and mustangs. It's a Bolton build with a completely stock original 230k+ mile 4.0L motor.
First pass I went
2.1. : 60ft
9.5. : 1/8
14.9 : 1/4
@89mph
From what I can find that's the fastest stock N/A motor Cherokee.
Then I opened the bottle.
1.7. : 60ft
8.0. : 1/8
12.7 : 1/4

That should be the fastest stock motor Cherokee AND the fastest jeep motor/I6 motor Cherokee period. While also beating out alot of the v8 guys too.
Just stoked about my runs, despite everyone at the track complaining about not hooking up, and I'm in the mountains, and someone laid a bike down so we couldn't get anymore passes. I'll be throwing some pics on my build thread and getting videos soon.
Before anyone starts to try and troll, make sure you read my claims. Jeep motor, in a Cherokee. I've brought this up before, and have beaten all the times I can find listed on the internet.

Thanks, I know it has more in it,as track conditions were sub par, and I didn't get to make any extra passes to try and dial anything in.

I've got a build thread. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/of...cejeep-179516/
But it's a factory 2wd Cherokee, stock motor/trans/converter/axle/gears. 4.0/aw4/2000stall(stock)/8.25/3.55s

That's a good 60ft with the stock trans, once u get into the aw4 an turn up line psi an stretch out the shifts some it should pick up a bunch. What size shot are you spraying, your xj looks mean with et streets on there

I would guess that a set of 4.10 gears would help out a lot on the 60' times and ET's in both 1/8 and 1/4 depending on RPM's.
Having ran a few NOS race motors in the past you can bet on one thing. It will not take very many pass's on NOS for that motor to become a grenade in the bottom end with 230,xxx mi. on a stock block. Anytime you gain almost 2 seconds over a NA pass its getting at the least a 75-100 shot if not more. But NOS is faster than a Turbo on a I-6 and will 60' better and 1/8 a lot faster and not enough ci./hp for a catch-up for the 1/4mi.with a turbo.

I'm thinking nothing less than a 100 shot, an it's got to be running real lean up top. But the 4.0 bottom end is pretty stout. I bet you could go back over the main caps an retorque them an be good to go.

We aren't running lean, and it's more than 100shot. And it's been ongoing. This thing has been to hundreds of races and literally a thousand pounds of nitrous put through it. This is 2 and half street/grudge race seasons in and still going strong.
But hey, haters gonna hate.

Where about are you in WV. I'm just south of the pan handle in VA. I going to be swapping turbos soon on my truck an will have a he351 turbo laying around that I could sell

Cool build. Almost fast enough to keep up with my 500whp Evo X. Haha I would be soooo upset if an XJ pulled on my Evo! It's amazing the things an XJ can do well. It's like a blank canvas that can be built well in any direction. And that speaks volumes that a stock 4.0 with 230k on it is taking the abuse you are throwing at it. Keep it up!
