Fan belt modification
I'm thinking of eliminating the fan and ac compressor pulley and going with the dual electric fan setup.
I'd rather not get the AC compressor dummy pulley and my fan pulley bearing is shot.
Has anyone done this or know enough about fan belts to tell me if this will work or not?
I know I'll have to get a custom belt length figured out but that's easy.

Before measuring it I would take your current belt and run it in that configuration to make sure there is no interference with anything. If there isn't then measure for the new on and you should be good to go. The idler pulley has a pretty good amount of adjustment - I would put it in the complete down position that way you can get the longest measurement and go from there.

One other issue to look at is contact on the crank pulley. It needs enough there so it won't slip under load. If you are really intent on doing this, why not move the alternator up to the AC position and protect it better while you are at it and gain contact area on the crank pulley?
