Default extra 2" of lift questions.

Insalled a 3" RC lift and 31" tires are still rubbing after minimal clearance. I'm re-attaching my fenders after every time we go out and it's getting old. I plan of getting 2" spacers up front and 2" lift shackles for the rear.

Questions:

Will I need longer shocks? I have the N2.0 shocks right now. If they will be long enough, that would be great.

Will I need longer brake lines? If so, front, back, or both?

What else might I need for his lift?

Thanks.

i did the same thing, and i didnt get longer shocks and it works fine. I just took the brake lines and disconnected them from the unibody and put them into a straight line rather than the stock Z configuration. I never took a fender off wheeling, but i did bend the rockers in with just the 3" and 31's.

edit: make sure youre extending your bumpstops

Whats your tire size?

I rock 31X10.5X15 tires on stock jeep rims, 3.5 inches of lift and I do not rub ever...

I have 31x10.5x15's too. I think I should add to the bump stops, but I don't know how. I did buy some hockey pucks, can I just epoxy them in? How many do I use? I do not want to take the front springs back out because they were a PITA. What can I use for the rear, those are the ones that rub the most. I go at it pretty hard, so the bumps I hit are pretty drastic.

Well, Which is worse: bottoming out your shocks or not? If your properly bump stopped, this isn't going to be a question you will ever have to face. That said, you just don't have the lift to hit things hard without stuffing you suspension. So if that's happening now, and you add an inch or two to the stops, it's gonna get worse. Why, if you beat on your rig so hard, did you get such a cheap lift? I'm not knockin ya, I'd assume it's a money thing.. Always is with me.. And lifting ain't cheap.

With the 2" BB kit, you may want longer shocks. I'm saying this because of your comment of aggressive wheeling. New ones are like 35 bucks ea. so not too bad.. But you may encounter other types of issues in your steering and drive line. With a collective ~5" of lift, the trac bar may need to be replaced or, at least a relocation bracket. The rear DS will probably start vibrating. As they like to do his over the 3-3.5" mark. Axle shims and/or a front DS may be in order. That or a SYE. Break lines, yea, you'll want a bit more out of them. I guess that's about it...

Def a money thing. That's all the truck is for, so I couldn't justify spending $1K (or more) at the time to lift it. I thought $500 was alot noting I have $900 in wheels and tires as well.

I completely understand. The BB, possibly a relocation bracket for trac bar and the front DS all seem likely candidates for going up to 5 inches.. So, 80 bucks for BB, 80 for DS and like 30 for bracket puts you at ~200 for parts.
