Default Extended front brake lines, how did you route them?

Just installed my IRO ss extended brake line kit in my 00 XJ.

When it came to the front, i was curious how everyone else deals with all the access line?

How did you manage the slack? What did you do to keep the brake line from catching a lug on the tire, or getting caught elsewhere?

Mine are routed exactly like stock, works fine. Mine are factory YJ brake lines up front, not too long, aren't gonna get hung up or caught on anything.

My stock lines were about half as long as the IRO stainless lines. My bracket is in the same place as the factory stock bracket, but there is a lot more line between the bracket and caliper.

Anyone?

Its been two days, i made a zip tie hanger to keep the line out of the tire, and away from rubbing on anything.

I cant believe im the first person to run into this issue?

Im thinking of slipping a rubber grommet over the line, and using a zip tie as a hanger or something. There has to be a creative/functional way to do this.

How much lift do you have and how long are the brake lines? Could you post a pic of your issue?

You shouldn't have any issues running them just as the stock ones were.. To get hung up on the lugs the lines would have to be absolutely way too long.

Here's a pic of mine, I haven't had a single issue with them.

3" lift. 27" long front lines from ironrockoffroad.com

My lines look similar to how yours are, maybe a few inches longer.

You really should be ok, with 3" of lift you could have gone with a shorter brake line (around 22") but it'll be ok. The brake lines definitely aren't long enough to catch a lug, just be sure they are clear of steering components. Do some dry runs in your driveway with a second set of eyes and you'll be good.

Otherwise, making a small zip tie hanger like you proposed could be a small piece of mind for you. If you have ABS you could also tie them to those lines.

I just used a zip tie and tied it to the shock loosely where it could still slide up and down as the wheel went up and down. So far so good.

On my 3 link with 4.5 inches of lift I used Chevy brake lines. Ended up pinching one with the tire so the potential for disaster is there

This is what i currently have done. Its been 3 days of random driving and so far its fine.

At full lock in either direction the line is about 1/2" away from the tire. So the line catching a lug is a possibility. Especially when aired down, and going over rough terrain. The brake line will contact the tire eventually.

does your brake line twist from the front of the caliper and ride on the edge of the shock
or is it routed back towards the doors then up
on my jeep the line gets tight like it will pinch either way i run the line when the suspension is droped. i have 4 inch lift, but it flexes allot the inner fender is my bump stops
you should get 2, 4 inch soft springs and attach them or weld a mount on the shock body and get some hose clamps like the ones on the transmission cooler lines

This is how mine are routed; axle is on small jack-stands in these photos.

that looks correct
you should get the front axle tube seals next
if you drive through any dirty water silt will build up in there and ruin the axle seals then
it will have a slow leak by the bottom ball joint
i tryed grease and pressing on them ,didnt work
