Extended brake lines
My 98 is on a rc 4.5 full leaf pack lift with 31's. I'm going to get new brake lines, I. Going to get new ones not pull some out of a jy. So, what are the best ones out there? And which ones are priced reasonably? I was looking at both skyjacker and crown, anyone have experience with both companies?

I bought the Crowns too and will install them today...Hopefully my rusty flare nuts will cooperate! I have pretty much the same setup...98 with same lift but with 33's

I was just about to ask about the same thing. I have a 98 with 4.5" RC lift and need to put on extended brake lines. Since everyone recommended crown I have a quick question.
I go to their website and their brake line packages come with 3 hoses. 2 front and 1 rear? Is there only 1 extension needed for rear brakes? You don't need 2 front and 2 rear?
Forgive me if this is stupid but I'm new to the XJ, just bought it 2 weeks ago and I'm working on getting it ready to pass inspection.

No you only need one in the back. The hard line comes off the unibody rail and down to a block. That line that runs across the length of the axle.

Also, is it absolutely necessary to run etended brake lines on my set up? 98 with 4.5 on 31's? I know with the relocated bracket it will be fine on the street, but what I'm wondering is when I stuff one of the front wheels will the other side just rip that brakeline right out of there.
