Default Extended Brake Lines

I'm about to install a lift on my 98 XJ Classic and looking into extended brake lines. I've looked at Rusty's and on Crown's website. Rusty's and a few others list 4 lines total 2 front and 2 rear, however, Crown lists 2 front and only 1 rear. I'm pretty sure I need 2 for the rear or am I wrong?

Unless you're lifting a bunch, stock YJ hoses front and back are good for 5" and bolt on.

As said, got to rockauto.com and get brake lines for a 95 wrangler. It'll be like $30 for all of them. I did this for my front with 4.5" and they fit perfect.

For the back I got a line for a 96 Dakota v8 4wd. I think its a bit longer.

You'll need 2 for front (left & right) and one for rear. Also, non-abs on the wrangler lines. The Dakota rear was with ABS but still works fine. Each line will run between $9-11.

Alright thanks! I'm on rockauto now, way cheaper than ordering extended lines elsewhere.

Yeah you'll only need one for the rear, but meanwhile you should buy my fronts to get ya started. Lol

I've just been down this road. I've got part #'s (from RockAuto) and pics of the YJ lines in my thread here https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f67/br...166804/index3/

The ones you used come out to about $10 cheaper than the ones I found on Rockauto, saving every little bit helps!

Yeah, rockauto ships from different warehouses, so sometimes I put every line offered (different brands) in my cart to compare shipping prices. Sometimes you spend $1 more on a part and save $5 on shipping...

I do the same thing, I don't like the way they do shipping. I usually order multiple parts at a time and shipping always end up being a lot

If you also relocated the hard line down they'd prolly do alright.

I think for longer front you can search the forum for mid-90's chevy 1500 2wd truck lines. I believe they work with slight modification and are longer than the wrangler lines.

A rear brake line for a 96 dakota v8 4wd is also longer for the rear than wrangler from what I understand.

I prefer to do business local instead of mail order.
