Default Exhaust Options

Alright guys, My 99 XJ has the famous manifold leak. It's been driving me crazy. I have a new header bought. While I am at it I am thinking on have a new down pipe bent to get rid of the smash in the factory pipe. What size should I have it done with? 2.25"? What are your guy's take on the smash/dent and what should I do about it?

I'd just swap the header on, you will probably notice more power increase/throttle response with the header upgrade, compared to eliminating the dented downpipe. Maybe if you were NHRA draggin, the time/money hassle to eliminate the dented downpipe would be worth it, my .02

Pictures of the dent? How bad is it? Do you think it's restricting the flow significantly? Or enough to affect performance?

Yours will have it too. Go look at it. Look at the pipe coming from the manifold going around the oil pan area. You will find the dent.
