I know theres a thread already for it but I don't feel like that will really help. I'm looking for a nice deep and loud. I'm not looking to spend a ton of money but I have money for it, if that makes sense? Is there maybe a muffler and tip package? I've had trouble for searching and just want to see what everyone recommends.

And also, will I get any milage gain or somewhat? I plan on a K&N Cold Air Intake as well? With both will I gain any milage? I'm not the guy that expects 20+ MPG out of my lifted brick but a few extra would be nice.

If you are looking for an inexpensive way to improve exhaust flow I would use your existing set up and buy a thrush tube. I think if you get a 2.25 inch in and out you can just.cut the old tube up and fit the muffler right in with some clamps. I ran a thrush tube on my 94 cherokee with APN header and no cat. The truck was a 5 speed and at stock height I got over 20 mpg at times. With a 4.5 inch lift 33's and stock gears it got around 15 on a good week. I did some welding to fit mine in but if you put the thrush tube in after the cat you may not have to weld. I bought it at autozone for like $40.

There is this too. http://performance-curve.com/84-01ch...ailpipe-1.aspx
He is a vendor on here (mudfrog I think)
This is what flowmaster has to say about sound differences-
http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/?page_id=10995
And a review on the sounds on the different mufflers-

Hope that helps! The performance curve kit is nice because it is 2.5 back and his prices are awesome.

If you decided to go with that kit, my understanding is that the super 40 allows more air flow than the super 44 but the super 44 is made to take more of a beating.

The video on the following page shows a ZJ, but's a 4.oL motr so the sound will be about the same for an XJ.

I got myself a high flow cat and a thresh muffler. Gave it a real deep ballsy sound. Good low rumble you can feel in your chest. I don't remember the brand of cat I got but I'm sure these guys around here can help with that. But I highly recommend thresh. I bought it at a shop for $120 with installation

Okay I think it's between the thrush and the cherry bomb, maybe the magna? Not sure. But welded or clamped? I have a welder at work so it's not a problem but is welding even worth it?
