that sounds good. ive always had flowmasters on my truck and love the sound. im looking for a little more straight pipe sound. thinking about just doing a cherry bomb haha.

I put a cherry bomb on my last XJ, it didn't sound that bad...do single offset on both ends of muffler, at idle it had a great sound, and didn't backfire when letting off at 55 either...might put one on my current XJ, less than $30...

My dad's XJ has a 30" cherry bomb and catless (thanks PO). But talk about bad *** tone! You can hear the rumble inside with the TV on that's how low the tone is! Not too aggressive at idle but open'er up and boy oh boy! It needs a good sized tip so it cackles though
Sorry about the cat mods I want my dad to get one too

I think Im going to go get a hi flow cat, a super 44, and make mine sounds dieselish today.
my 2003 gmc v6 sounded like a diesel after I put on the flowmaster and a turndown like mentioned above. sounds bad ***, but too much resonance inside the cab. May seek the 50 series this time

trust me on this one... put a masey ferguson tractor muffler on it. (built in turndown) its not too big and they sound good.
i run a straight pipe and it sounds good with the high profile cam... but for stock id run the MF tractor or a thrush.
and no you dont have to run it like a stack. i just liked the look lol
