Excited... Dana 30 HP and Dana 44 Install Advice Please
After months of reading forum posts (thank you!), taking in Bleepin' Jeep and NickInTime videos (the man, the myth, and the legend actually answered a question that I posted to his YouTube channel), scouring for parts, and parting with money, I am on the verge of installing a 96' Dana 30 HP and 88' Dana 44 into my 91' XJ.
Kind of going all out. Disk brake conversion. Truetrac in the rear. Many variables changing at once. (Not doing the SYE yet). Thinking that I may be in for many problems if things are managed right.
Still having a hard time trying to find a solution for the drive shaft (bonus points if you know what the "drive shaft" is actually named in the official Jeep parts catalog. It took me several minutes to find it!)
Any advice on the installs? Please!
Also, I will now have a pair of 91' 3.07 axle housing/diffs on hand, 30 front, 35 rear. It seems like the scrap yard is the next step for those? Also have a LSD carrier for the Dana 44. Thoughts on the next step for that?

OK, I will tak on that challenge. You can use your current drive shaft. However the U joint may not match up. I am not sure if the Jeep D44 has a 1330 U joint, but my son's TJ does. All you have to do is get a 1330/1310 adapter U joint and you will be good to go. NAPA or a driveline shop will be able to hook you up. The pinion lengths are the same, so change that U joint and you will be good to go

Your stock drive shaft will work just fine. I haven’t had a d35 for a very long time but if I remember right it’s a 1310 just like the 44 so no yoke adapters needed.
