Exclamation exaust problems

trying to make this follow site rules. i really need help.

the previous owner of my jeep straight piped the exaust, and all though it sounds good, its illegal and i need to change it.

i want to know if there any possibilties of it doing harm to the engine since he cut the cat off?
and if i buy a flowmaster 44 kit will i be good to go?

stupid question... but is it bad to rev my engine? i do it occasionally just messing around, and i had to do it alot when my battery died to get it to autozone, so just wondering.... because my friend told me today its messes it up bad...

There is alot of misinformation floating around about cat converters.

It will not cause harm, however its a Federal Regulation, not state. Our sport is already having enough trouble as is with people forcing trails to be closed, don't give more reason for them to be upset.

Naw it won't confuse you computer. BC there are no sensors on our cats. So no issues... And your welcome man anytime. And I always leave that lil website when ever some one has an exhaust question its a great place and its good deals.

Some have them after the cat. If you leave it plugged in but not in the exhaust itself the CEL will stay off.

It lookes like you have a 84-95 that has no O2 after the cat. That is the only time it is harmful is when the computer is reading how the cat is doing and adjusting the fuel to air mix based on that reading 96-01. Rev it only when it is warm and never hit the rev limiter witch I think is 5,500.

Yea, go here, buy a cat, muffler, and tail pipe all for under 200. Install is a breeze. Save yourself the trouble of dealing with tickets and fines

some models have an O2 sensor before and after the CAT, the one after "reads if the CAT is working properly", but no harm if you remove the CAT. unless you hate the planet. haha
