European lift on a budget
I decided to lift my XJ 3 inches. I've some spacers ordered for the front and can get leafs for the rear.
My main problem is locating good shock absorbers. Everything is so dam expensive over here for these Cherokee's (upgraded parts - as 99% are imported from good ole USA). I could probably get pro-comp extended shocks but they're pretty big money and based on previous experience, not that great (I estimate the shocks alone will cost me 50% of the value of the car)
I've been reading up on shocks from other vehicles that will fit the XJ but most of these are American autos and therefore rare over here anyway.
Any ideas on upgrades available easily in Ireland/UK/Europe?
I see Trooper II rear shocks may fit the front... may be a start?

if you get bar pin eliminators, finding rear shocks that fit gets much easier. Pretty much just find a set that is the length you need and making sure the bushing width is the same or real close. Best if you find some that are from a vehicle similar in weight to yours or the valving might be completely useless to you
For the front, same basic idea except it needs to have a stud upper mount instead of the bolt/bushing type on the bottom.

Hey mate, was quoted just under £200 for them
Maybe I'm being unrealistic with the price...
Edit: Cool Hooper, thanks for the advice

I am running Monroe 59332's As I recall they are rear for an Explorer. They ride nice and have about 3" more travel than stock. Stight mods were needed but they have been on over a year with no problems.
