Engine Rebuild Noise
I rebuilt my 1996 4.0 out to a 4.6 stroker. After several hundred miles I began hearing a ticking noise in my #6 cyclinder that comes and goes, but mostly stays. The mechanic said to leave it alone until we changed the break-in oil. I now have over a thousand miles on the rebuild, have changed the break-in oil and still hear the noise. The mechanic says that strokers can make noise. Am I being shined on by the mechanic, or is this true. Anyone with experience in this area? Also I used forged pistons on the rebuild.
