I took the time to search threads for this issue and havent found,
My 95 xj was running too hot so I did all the fixes mentioned here (new rad, 195 thermostat, new elec fan, system flush, new temp sensor) and now that its fall here, I find that it runs cool (110 - 125) which is fine, but the electric fan kicks in a lot at this low temp, which will be a problem when its -30 here and I need heat in my cab!!! any thoughts? I replaced the sensor in the t-stat housing, and fan still kicks in!

e fan comes on when ac compressor is on. when you have the defrost on the window it comes on automatically to help remove moisture(fog) on window. Thats what I was told. Mine does when I have it over on the window, it will come on or a few seconds and then back of repeatedly.

I have somewhat the same probelem. I too replaced the rad(3 row from radiatorbarn), thermostat, water pump, and lots of flushing. Ran great in the hot summer but as it cooled off out side it starting running cooler. I think too cool. So I took the grill off and cut a piece of card board out, painted it black, then zipped tied it to the grill. It's not over 100% of the grill. But a good 80-90%. Now it runs right at 210. A little below some times and a little over. Try this out. Won't fix ur e fan. But that's because its working correctly. When the a/c is on its on. And the a/c kicks on and off to defrost the windshield.

Yes I would. I also drive a 93 geo metro. And in the winter it won't even get to normal running temperature. So card board in the front of that is a must. I bought it for the gas mileage...but when its cold it goes way down. Mainly for the fact the motor can't get to normal temperature so it keeps sending more fuel to heat it up. But it won't actually heat up. The card board helps. But I have been pondering the idea of an engine block heater. For both my cars. It will keep the coolant and a nice temperature so when you start your car it will warm up very quick. And heat will be coming out of the vents since your coolant will be warm.
