True enough... Except I'm putting in a non disco, which I will first modify to achieve better driveline angles. I've done test runs, leaving my disco axle connected to verify whether or not it would be an issue. There is clearly an issue. Thus I want to twist the new axle before I swap it in.
You should lock up your disco and try to drive down the highway. I bet your jeep jumps off the road. Or better yet, don't do that.

Now, if I were to do this all again, I would have gotten a Dodge input shaft, added a 1" spacer between the tranny and chevy bell housing, stuck with the Chevy output shaft and tail housing, gotten a 32 spline input gear for the TC, drilled the tail housing for the flipped Jeep TC bolt pattern, and possibly still gotten a clocking ring. This would have given me almost 3" more front driveshaft length, as well as a slightly lower front TC yoke. It might even have let me clock the TC down a couple more degrees. And it would have put the TC in the right spot in my tunnel and I wouldn't have had to use the hammer.
It probably would have cost about the same at the time, but would add up to almost a thousand dollars now. The better solution in the long term will be to get a crawl box, which will gain me the same 3-4".
But in the mean time, I have a spare Dana 30 that I can hopefully easily twist and drop in.
