Duratracs are driving me crazy
Ive been running Duratracs for almost 2 years and the noise is killing me. I researched these tires and thought they would be perfect but no they are louder than anything ive ever heard. People I pass on the road actually plug there ears there so loud. My deaf 78 year old Father in law said there loud. I hate to replace them as there is so much tread left. Im looking for more street tire than off road now that my 16 year old is driving it. Is there a special way of rotating or something I can do. Im back to looking for a quieter tire now.

The tread looks good they are slow wear tires and they seem to ride hard. Just so noisy. The noise starts at about 30 mph they really sing.

You have something wrong. I've been running Duratracs for over a year now and they're one of the quietest tires I've had.
Maybe you're just old and you're used to street tires?

Look close at the tread blocks to see If they are even height on front tires. My last set of km2s where so loud it was like running swampers. When I changed to a newer set of the same tires it was so quiet. The tires I pulled off had barely noticeable differences in the tread blocks on my front tires from the previous owner. You defiantly have something going on duratracs are quite on the street.

I have almost 20k on the tires rotate often. However I am not the best at detecting cupping. The tires vibrate and buzz the interior right off idle to 10-12 mph then they smooth out and start the hum around 20 by the time your up 45 they start humming pretty good highway speed the noise makes people plug there ears. Its not a pinion noise or wheel bearing it is the tires. When I first bought them they were great but after about 10k miles they started making a lot of noise. the vibrating buzzing that they do at low speed they did from new. I just thought it was the tread pattern.
