Default Durango steering box questions

I'm working on getting a 1999 Durango power steering box for my XJ. Have a couple of questions, if anyone can help me out that would be great.

- Would this work: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...er=260895_0_0_

we have an account with AZ and I could more than likely get it for much cheaper if it's worth it.

- Is the power steering pump/pulley set up a direct bolt on to a '99 XJ?

Thanks

I have that reman durango box. I'm pretty sure it's V8 4x4 NON PLOW 98-99 models. make sure it says non plow somewhere in the description. I put my box on brand new out of the bag and it's making some weird grinding noises after a few wheeling trips. might be part of the steering.. I'll get back to you on that. I haven't heard of anyone swapping in durango steering pump. only WJ steering pump.

oh and don't get your spacer from JCR. not sure how this happened. but it happened

JCR stuff is usually pretty stout too, I'm surprised it did that. Where did you get your re manufactured steering box from and did you need to supply a core?

this is the box I got
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...res_18340072-p
Steering gear box With core charge = 267.99
Use this code RAF7JA1102 = $35.00 off
take in your core from your jeep = $110.00 off

total out the door = $128.00 total

look around you might be able to find a better coupon code. But at the time I bought mine this was the best deall of all the auto parts stores.

yeah I'm gonna message them about it. I picked up the box off NAXJA for $80. you need to supply a core for brand new ones

I would definitely contact JCR about that. I've always had great customer service when dealing with them.

yeah I'm just lazy. and what are they gonna do send me a new one at best? I'll probably email them next time I take my steering box off and see what happens. already hammered it semi straight and tossed it back in there. any way I hope your reman box works better than mine (seems to be grinding coming from the inside?). getting those washers inbetween the spacer and the box holes was a PITAx10000^99. takes me 2 people every time. I just glued the damn things to the spacer with RTV in the end haha
