Does RockAuto take an XJ core if you buy a Durango box?

Updating this post for future searches.

New pitman arm came in today (Crown automotive) - It went on a little bit better but not nearly as much as it should. Going to return the gearbox and get a different brand.

If it helps,I'm using the XJ pitman arm on my Durango box.

Did you get it fixed yet? I have the same box put on mine but my pitman arm is not stock so it goes up a bit higher. In fact the idiots who did my alignment torqued too much and now I cannot get my puller in there.

Not yet, I ordered a new gear box but it hasn't came in yet, hopefully monday or tuesday. Previous user sent me a PM and he said he didn't have any issue at all with one from autozone but it was $300, I ordered a different one from rockauto for I think $225 so I'm hoping it'll work this time. That's a bummer about not being able to get the puller on. I had to take an angle grinder to my stock one lol

Just finished mine last night. Used a breaker bar to snug the nut up as far as I could. A mechanic friend of mine told me to recheck that nut a few times after driving because it is common for the pitman arm to "walk" its way up the shaft away from the nut.

New gearbox came in today, got the arm and nut on way better than the previous box. Although, with the previous box when the gearbox was mounted and the steering shaft was connected I could spin the steering wheel freely left and right with no resistance. With this one, I seem to get resistance at center. Once I'm over left or over right it spins freely but as soon as I get to center it has resistance. I attached my pitman arm to my 1-ton steering and I could turn the wheels but right at center when I turned the steering wheels it took a second for the wheels to actually catch up.... is this normal?

Mine did not have that issue at all. Air in the lines maybe because there is not enough fluid in the box?

Ya maybe, previous box didn't do it either. Guess I could remove the lines so it's only the box and pour some fluid in and see what happens.

Well, I took off the lines and tried adding some fluid but it didn't want to cycle through the gear box. So I re-attached the lines and used an irrigation syringe to feed fluid through the box. Turned the wheel all the way in one direction then back several times 15-20 maybe but I still got resistance each time it went back to center.

i once was sent a box from agr had the same problem a spot in the center of travel w/ resistance , a mechanic friend said send it back its not right. the first one they sent leaked fluid, the 2nd had this problem , i got a refund & bought a psc box never had a problem w/ it.

The PSC box is like $900 though unless I was looking at the wrong one. Can't dish that much out. Gonna send this one back and try for an a-1 cardone this time around. Luckily its my daily so I can just keep doing these swaps till I get a decent one haha

Just updating for future searchers...

FINALLY! After three different gear boxes from RockAuto - the A1-Cardone is the one that worked. Very small amount of resistance when returning to center but nothing major at all.
