Glad to hear no collision. That's a good start. Yeah, definitely get some pics up, I'd like to see what you have going on in there.

As far as the wiring, it's probably not wired correctly or they ran it directly through the switch and not a relay. I just troubleshot a buddies wrangler that someone screwed up their wiring to the relay for the light bar he had on. They ran a 12v wire to the relay and then jumped it across the terminal to give the switch power. Needless to say his wires got super hot. I rewired it and it's all good now. I have a diagram for the wiring, just substitute the lights in the diagrams with a fan. I run a separate relay to each fan just so one relay is not bearing the load of both fans. There's a little more to it as far as the installation goes. You'll need to shroud the area that is still open because the electric fan is not shrouded as wide as the clutch fan, and you'll need a bracket for the new electric fan for the tabs to sit in so it doesn't rattle around. I did a write up on it a while ago. My 1st attempt was with a larger aftermarket fan that went bad after my tc drop was removed. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f58/du...fans-xj-95170/

Tough to get a really good picture. There's plenty of clearence between the fans and the engine. I did not have to cut down the studs for the mechanical fan. I have all of these on a flex a lite variable speed controller, but relays and switches would work as well. The fans are mounted with short pieces of aluminum bar stock and nuts and bolts. The top is mounted to the screw holes in the radiator support and the bottom is mounted using small "L" brackets bolted to the slots for the old fan cowls. I did do a little bit of trimming on the edges of the plastic fan shroud to get the fans to fit against the radiator in between the metal rods connecting the top and bottom of the radiator together.

Classic--- You have more room due to the fact you cut and recessed your fans closer to the radiator itself which makes sense. But it is more work. The way I did it, I didn't have to cut or notch anything with the extra stock Auxillary fan. I liked the option of going back to the stock set up if I didn't like it or if it didn't work to my satisfaction. Are those 10 inch fans?

maybe a dumb question but, if i deleted the mechanical fan and wanted to add in another ac compressor (to fill a tank for tires) to fill its spot is that possible? im thinking id have to rearrange alot of things.

They are 9 inch fans. I tried it before with two 10 inch fans. They didn't fit between the upper and lower radiator support. That's why I went to the 9 inch. All I had to trim is about 1/8 in of plastic from the sides of each fan. I could still go back to a mechanical and the factory electric, but I never will. It's definitely more work the way I did it.

Anything is possible if you're good with a welder. Never attempted a project like that not even the alternator relocation mod. I'm not sure it would work with the belt routing. It might/might not. I haven't seen this attempted yet either. Most guys do the conversion on their existing compressor to do on board air if they really want it that bad.

That's a pre-97 fan which is rated at a lower cfm (less blades) And yes, you're right it does look like the body is thicker. Here's a few pics of mine.
