Drum Brake Backing Plate Interchange
I have a need to improve the park brake function on my 1994 XJ with Chrysler 8.25 rear end with 9" brakes. I want to add 10x2.5" brakes to this vehicle.
I have found several complete brake system options. Used from a Dodge 73 Dart or 65 Coronet (and probably others) with a 5 on 4.5 pattern and others new for Dodges with 10 x 2.5" brakes that are listed as either for a 8.75 Chrysler and are also listed as being for a 8.75/8.25 rear ends.
The question is will these fit my 8.25 rear end? None of the sellers are certain of the fit on my axle.

I went the same route you are. I got all the enterchange info from forabodiesonly.com . Sorry I cant recall to help. Make sure you get the struts and parking brake lever with your backing plates, they are obsolete now.
