Default driveshaft question

I have a 97 2wd that I am putting a 95 aw4 with a 231 attached to it. I have a 8.25 in the rear and I'm wondering what year ds I would have to use or does it just go by length? All info and insight would be appreciated.
I also have 4.5 inches of lift on 33 If that matters.

I think the auto trans with the 8.25 combo requires the longest driveshaft available from the factory.

HnTs can be had for around $100, and a SYE isn't a bad idea anyway.

This is what I have read. Driveshafts

Front Driveshaft - On 84-87 XJs (NP207 t-case) the front shaft is a "GKN" style shaft. On 87-01 XJs (NP231/242 t-case) the front is a "double cardan" two-piece driveshaft with a CV joint at the transfer case end.

Rear Driveshaft - The rear is a one-piece shaft with standard u-joints at both ends. The slip yoke is located on the output shaft of the transfer case. On 84-95 models, the yoke slides in and out of the transfer case and is lubricated by the ATF fluid internally. On 96-01 due to a design change, the slip yoke is external (does not slide in and out of the transfer case). This slip yoke is covered with a rubber boot.

29 spline 8.25 .... 27 7/8" 97 + D35 ........... 28 7/8" 1987 D44 .......... 29 5/8"

Found these specs. You think since I'm lifted 4.5in I should go with the Dana 35 shaft even tho I have a 8.25

Also just found out I can only use a drive shaft from a 95 and newer because the 96+ tcase output shaft changed.
