Default Driveline vibrations

Whats up everyone so I have seen alot of questions asked about this topic but not really any answers, at least to my situation. I just got my xj back from a Mech and it drove perfect the 45 mins it takes to get home. Until I found a dirt road and went a little dukes of Hazzard for a second. Got back on the hardball and started noticing vibrations at low and high acceleration. I tried checking for any play in the rear driveshaft (vibrations coming from under my seat) and it's tighter than a church girls faith. My question is, should or should I not have alittle play in the rear driveshaft. I had about an 1/10th or so of rotation play before I took it in and never had any problems off road.

You probably have vibes in the rear, but to be sure remove the front driveline and go for a test drive

What did the mechanic do? was it lift or driveline related?
Possibly your Bo and Luke Duke run something out of alignment? shims?

The problem with trying to be clever is that you draw attention away from what needs the attention.

If by

tighter than a church girls faith.
you mean the

1/10th or so of rotation play
is now absolutely zero then it would seem that there is a significant issue in the differential. You need at least the .006" of backlash between the ring and the pinion plus the play/wear of the spiders (unless you now have a Lincoln locker)(and the backlash of the R&P is .000").
