Default Driveline angles and questions

If I do the SYE with a double u-joint driveshaft as a rear driveshaft, do I still need to do the transfercase drop?

I plan on building a completely new trans mount out of tube and having it bolt (or mounts welded to the unibody) so that the whole driveline is sucked up closer to the body.

You will need shims for the rear axle though

How big will your lift be? You can't really tell what size shims you will need until you lift it, install the SYE, and measure the angles

Also would the rear driveshaft have to be longer? Or can I use a ZJ front driveshaft?

You might be able to get away with a ZJ front, but I can't guarantee

Ok well I'll look for ZJ and XJ driveshafts-- I can them lengthened locally.

Sounds good. There's a 2* shim on Trail Gear; That'll be easy to install.

I am not telling you to get a 2° shim... I am telling you where it should measure after the shim is installed.... you won't know until you install and measure...

but as long as you are with in a few degrees it should be driveable until you can get the correct shim
