Drive shaft changes with 4.5 lift?
If I get a rough country 4.5 inch lift, will I have to make any changes to the drive shaft or stuff like that? Also how hard is it to put on a front grill and bumper from a 97-01 Cherokee onto a 92? Sorry if these are dumb questions, I just bought my first xj haha.

some folks do an SYE at 4.5". I haven't and haven't had any problems out of it. Beyond 4.5", some are running the front double cardon DS in place of the rear with an SYE

I put a brand new 3.5" leaf spring set on my 90 and needed a custom length drive shaft along with a SYE. But after I did the install, I was almost positive that they sent me a larger size because how much taller the back was. Definitely hot rodding down the road until I had to put spacers up in front.

So sounds like I'm either going to have to drop the transfer case, or get a SYE if I go with the 4.5?

Sye is the "proper"way to do it...but I had 4.5 on my old xj with just a tc drop for about 4 years with no issues...current owner is still running it the same way with no problems
