Good question. I'll have to check tomorrow sometime and see.

I hope that's all because I'm tired of messing wit the front end. I have more important stuff to do like welding spiders and outwheeling yotas.

go pay to have an alignment done......ur gonna run into other issues down the road if you dont...even if your rig is driving straight now.

i use a tape measure and an angle finder to do my alignments, but im Hunter Alignment certified and have been building jeeps for 13 years.
I've had the pitman arm off on my Cherokee and it wasn't keyed with a bigger spline.

thats funny....i just replaced my steering box last weekend, and reamed the taper in my pitman arm to fit my new one ton tie rod ends.....and it is def keyed with a bigger spline. so has every other cherokee i have ever worked on.

i actually just did a search, just to prove my statement, and found that there is 4 of these bigger splines on the pitman arm and steering box. they are called "indexing splines". internet tells lies sometimes, so i will go out and check to be sure.(but i know they have at least one.)

This is what my pitman arm looked like with the steering wheel straight.
The second one is how the wheel looked with the wheels straight.
Adjusted the drag link the opposite way then before and it fixed the upside down steering wheel! Imagine that. Doing something right fixed the problem!

when i first got my jeep my adjustment clamp was loose... slowly my steering wheel kept going more and more one way over a few months... i thought the thing was slipping teeth in the gearbox after i pulled it out of a bud hole sideways and the steering wheel was locked so thats what i thought happened... after along time of only being able to turn one way REAL well and almost non the other way it finally got so bad i couldnt drive it... signed on to this forum and bam... someone told me to check it out... crawled under there and grabbed it... spun it by hand about 1 turn and it fell off... yep... fell off... like it came all the way out... lol... if i had driven it maybe a few more miles i would have lost all my steering and crashed... never did i think it was ready to come apart...

could have been alot worse for ya is all im sayin lol...

Disconnect TRE at pitman arm, disconnect battery, remove screws from back of steering wheel, remove plug for airbag/horn. Remove large nut holding wheel in place, Use puller to remove wheel, and center it. Reinstall it, and voila! Its straight

I must have looked over the part that he actually "fixed" it, it happens. Read the other stuff and saw the pics. Been a long day as well.

I pay attention to it now... got tired of editing posts... lol

And I just realized I didn't put a lol or haha or anything after that post so sorry if it looked like I was being a terd... I read it as me being a terd so didn't want you to think that lol... expressions don't exist on the internet lol...
