So I bough 4 doors(from a 2001 xj) for my 95 xj. I tried to convert to powerlocks and power windows but the kit I bought was complete rubbish so I got tired and wanted to have the real deal.
My question is if the 2001 doors will bolt right on and if it'd possible to make the power locks and power windows to work without any major work,

Youd think the only difference with 84-01 XJ would be exterior and interior trim, and some wiring, but nope. The latches were relocated, and used a different setup. I found an old thread with a link to a JP article (from 2009) on swapping doors between a 92 MJ and 97-01 XJ. It doesnt cover much other than wiring, but check the pic showing the latch locations. Looking at those pics, maybe you can use the doors from the 2001 if you relocate the striker, using the striker from the XJ you pulled the doors from. I have no idea. Never tried it. Me, personally, wouldnt even bother with it. I would rather use the same year doors and skip all that drama.
