Default doors off, now no radio.

So I took my front doors off yesterday, just snipped all the wires and put quick disconnects on. Now the radio doesn't come on. Is there any wiring in the doors that would do this? The only thing I can think of is that I fried the in line fuse when I put the battery cable back on after cleaning all the corrosion off but I haven't checked it yet. I know I didn't cut the ground because it is an aftermarket radio and I grounded it differently.

no unless one of your power wires grounded. that is what happened to me. altho mine went into to "protect" mode which saved my radio.

if they are spade terminals GET RID OF THEM NOW! you need a better connector. I use a trailer lighting plug personally.

Everything in the doors are power? And why not spade terminals? It looked like there would need to be like three trailer plugs for all the wires. (16in the drivers door)

well, unless u have the speaker bar in the back, without your doors, u no longer have speakers
wait, now i see that it was just the front doors you took off. Is anything in there aftermarket? like maybe someone else took a whack at installing speakers themselves?

Well between me and po there have been multiple speakers in there. I put the doors back on and still no radio. I'm gonna try wiring the power straight to the radio

Yep power eerything in the doors.if I were to do it again id disconnect battery ground before cutting wires. I just wired on spade connectors with the heat shrinkable female ends so each wire is isolated from one another and wrapped in electrical tape to hopefully keep water out. I will probably connect wires inside the rubber accordionny thingy one at a time to be safe though. Make sure if you leave conductivr ends near eachother that you either pull fuses or isolate them somehow

Sounds good. Another question is how do you take them off? Un bolt the hinges or grind the bottom of he pin away?

Don't actually grind the pin away. Cut the bottom part of thhinge via dremel or the like and reinforced cut off wheel. Ill get you a write up link later.
