Does the front track bar have to be released to perform a suspension lift on front?

I am working on my Rough Country 4.5" suspension lift. The front track bar bolt on the passenger side is just spinning. I was able to remove the retainer nut, but I believe the sleeve within the track bar is seized to the track bar bolt. I don't like hitting and beating on it when the Jeep is on stands. Wondering if I can finish everything else on the front and beat the bolt out once the front tires are back on. Is this possible?

Have the back done. Rear leaf spring bolts were horrible to get off.

Yes, it's possible. Having it disconnected helps, tho.

Aren't you replacing the trac bar anyway? Disconnect it from the body side...

Leave it like that bruh!!

anyways... yeah you can do it without taking the track bar off but you will have to get spring compressors.

or you can try taking it off at the other end, but beware, I had to cut my track bar off at the frame end... Luckily I bought the double shear track bar bracket at the same time.

Yeah, just disconnect the frame side and you'll be good to go.

I should leave it like that. lol I will disconnect from the other end and proceed. Not a fan of hitting on a vehicle when it is on jack stands. Might go with an adjustable track if it is in the budget.

If you do go ahead and upgrade to a double shear bracket on the frame end.

well if you havent started yet the first thing i would do is hit ever bolt your taking off with pb blaster then before undoing anything try to undo the track bar from the axle if you cant the track bar braket is four bolts to remove but be warned either way the track bar will need to come off the axle unless you want your axle pushed to one side

My rear leaf spring bolts were a ***** as well. Looks good though. Anyways just a word of caution about leaving the rear raised: I did the same thing and drove on it for about a month or two and it wrecked my rear differential. Cost about a grand to fix.

Although I've heard that the XJ is prone to that problem as well so who knows.

Disconnect the trac bar and the sway bars, shocks and remove the bolt that holds the brake line in place.

Sometimes even then its still hard to get the springs in. if you still can not get it. Remove the front lca bolt. Do one, put the spring in, then the lca bolt back in. then do the other side.

take the bolt out while the tires are on the ground. have someone shake the steering wheel back and fouth while you spin the bolt out. you have to remove it to drill a new hole if your following rc's instructions.
