Does anyone have a Rusty's pre-made in cab XJ roll bar?
There is a guy selling one of these locally on craigslist and I was wondering if it would be worth the money, and actually hold up. I have no fab skills so I cant make my own (yet).
Heres the link to it on their website: http://www.rustysoffroad.com/jeep-in...-roll-bar.html
Thanks

"NOTE: This product is designed to help protect vehicle occupants in case of a roll over or side impact but is sold as a show bar; it is no substitute for safe and responsible driving. Always wear your seat belt, know the terrain, speed limitations, and any obstacles that may lie ahead."

It is sold as a show bar because they have done zero testing to show how it will survive a roll over. So it is just like all the cages and roll bars built by small back yard shops

Try these guy. http://www.rockhard4x4.com/category_s/141.htm
Don't want to hijack the thread too bad i'll start a new one if necessary.
Edit: I started searching after I asked the question like a newb, and am already hearing not so good comments about it as far as mounting, strength, and head clearance. In the long run I suppose i'll be happiest building my own.

The place I got my cage done is flexpoint offroad. Its a nice cage, its an exo of course but besides the tad bit of surface rust I'm gettin(I live really close to the ocean) I got no complaint.
So I picked up one. I have 6 grandkids the oldest is 8. With a 6" lift on a 1993 XJ. The kids would use the doors to climb in and I didn't want the door broken. So, I installed the show cage with grab handles so they can get in. Install was super easy took about 45 mins. Although, I would not rely on this cage for safety since the XJ floor is thin. but Rusty did something, maybe by mistake or not. But bolting the cage to the safety belts on the B pillar really tighten up the whole ride. I'd say 80% of all the squeaks and what not are gone. The body twist is dam near gone. Don't get me wrong the cage is for show. But but the XJ body isnt that stiff so if you're just looking for something to tighten up your ride and make your Jeep look cooler. Or just solve a kid climb in problem this could be the Best $300 you can spend IMO. Aside from all that. Rusty's did a good job on construction and powder coat. As usual with Rusty's off-road it's a high quality product.
