Here is the beginning of a long blog/video series that will take you through the entire process.

Prep work is not vehicle specific.

Google prep for monstaliner. Any info you find for covering the exterior of a vehicle applies to an XJ.

Good prep is the key to paint and bedliner,I would think about spraying it if you got a air compressor and a under coating gun.

Did mine. I took everything off I could. Pulled the rubber off the windshield it comes off easy enough a little bit of a pain getting it back in. I back taped doors hatch and hood. Pulled the rear quarter glass out. Take some 1/4 inch rope and push down in the rubber around the hatch glass all the way around. Then you can tape it off and not have any tape lines.

Sand it with 80 grit on a da if you have one wash with dawn just like you were washing your car rinse really well let dry or blow out all nooks and what not. Wipe down with mek. Goes with out saying wash it before you pull the glass. Then tape off after glass removed then wipe down with mek.
