Disk Brake Conversion?
1997 XJ, 8.25 rear. Does anyone know if I can use the SSBC Disk/Drum Conversion kit (part # A128-6) on the 8.25? They list is as only applying to the D35.
I talked to SSBC's tech dept and they said that just as long as I can get the backing plate matched up with the holes, even if I gotta drill, I should be fine. But... the guy said that no one has ever asked that question and can't give a "for sure" answer.
Yes, I am aware of a ZJ conversion to XJ. I did find two ZJ's, but both had smashed rear wheels.
Any inputs?
Supposedly the Terrafllex Kit fits all (D35, 8.25, D44), but the SSBC kit is sitting in my garage right now.

The GC swap is SO easy and cheap. Excellent write-ups are available, too.

From what I understand yes because switching to the disc the calipers don't need as much pressure so if don't change, if you brake too hard you can lock the back wheels up.
