Dip stick pushed down
Hi all....
Just about to put the tags back on my 2000, thanks for all the help in my first build!!! I will post a build thread soon... stoked!!! she sounds like a beast with the engine bored out and my banks header.... anyway...
This morning, however, i went to drive a sheet rock screw into the broken yellow plastic that was jammed in the dip stick "tube" and only pulled out half of it and by accident pushed the rest of the dip stick further down the tube.... does that tube come off easily? and/or is the dip stick being pushed down 2 inches gonna mess with the cam/crankshaft at all or does it go straight into the oil pan? i have half a mind to just leave it alone, any thoughts?? i did search but found nothing on the subject. peace!!!

It goes into the oil pan. Follow your hand down the tube til you get to the bracket/tab where its mounted to the block. Remove the hold down bolt, and pull and twist the tube til it comes free. Viola, tube is out. Make sure that the oring is there wheyn you put it back, so it doesn't leak. No dipstick=guessing on oil level=bad.
