Tjs have a frame. The torque of a diesel would put a lot of stress on a unibody so hes going to have to do more work than just putting it in a tj.

I had some dude bring a ZJ in that had the 4bt, he had an issue with firewall clearance and he had to install a cowl induction hood to clear the innercooler tubes. looked like a lot of work but it was pretty cool.

1985 Mercedes 300D, turbo diesel, similar HP/TQ as a standard jeep motor, bolts to jeep 5-speed tranny.

NOT rediculously heavy.

Search turbo diesel jeep on youtube. There is a guy with a video about 1.13 long where he starts motor and lets it idle while he talks about the swap a little bit.

Feeling nice, here is one of the videos:

This is my next year project.

Engine is OM617.

I wasn't discouraging you at all imo it'd be bad *** I was just mentioning the usual unibody problems lol.

What's the purpose? Better gas mileage, cheap gas if you make your own biodiesel, or in my case, I will run two gas tanks and run diesel in one and straight filtered grease in the other. Used grease is free!!!!

Besides It just sounds cool!! Good enough reason for
Me!!

To be unique from the rest of the crowd.
