Default Did 4WheelParts screw me again? Help determining shock travel length...

Hi guys, I am again questioning my latest order with 4WheelParts.com and I could use a little help. They're like the psycho ex-gf I keep going back to after they held onto my winch bumper order for the better part of 3 months but charged me anyway...

In this case, I ordered a full set of Bilsteins a while back and have been riding them for a little while now. The 4WP guy on the phone recommended the ones I purchased based on my lift 3.5-4" but they just don't feel right and then I saw a guy in another thread reference different (longer travel) shocks that he purchased for his 3.5-4" lift. So, can anyone help me determine if these ones (and the corresponding travel) that I ended up with are correct or could they possibly be harming my ride quality / performance?

5100 SERIES SHOCK - Part # BIL24-185622 2

Collapsed Length (IN): 13.68
Extended Length (IN): 21.85
Travel Length (IN): 8.17

5100 SERIES SHOCK - Part # BIL24-185639 2

Collapsed Length (IN): 13.58
Extended Length (IN): 22.09
Travel Length (IN): 8.51

What do you mean by "they don't feel right"?

8" travel shocks are pretty standard for a 3-3.5" lift.

do they bottom or top out during normal driving?

Based on all the feedback here and elsewhere, are you surprised with 4WD? I completely stopped buying anything from them and their install work was my costliest mistake ever...

There are good vendor on the forum that are worth our business, even if its a few bucks more...

I just expected a pretty significant improvement in ride quality over the white boot crappers I had on there from Rusty's and considering the cost and touted quality of the Bilsteins I felt like it wasn't there.

Hard, jarring transmission of bumps and ruts up into the cab. I am on HD front coils which could partially be the culprit but I also have a full bumper, winch plate, brush guard AND winch on the front end.

I was just concerned when I saw a different guy post his shock travel lengths and they were considerably different than mine, but sounds like about 8 inches of travel should be right.

I had a experience with 4WP too. But with that being said they where doing the install as well. Ordered re 3.5, didn't know they dialed in taller then advertised and my original Blisteins where too short. They swapped then out for the longer ones.

Damn leafs would not give so my ride was super rigid b/c of the shackle angle. They replaced my 3.5 coils with 4.5 (for free), replaced my lca's with adjustables (for free), and gave me uca's at cost all installed for free too. (Yes I know I paid the first time)

I hear a lot of people dog them but they bent over backwards for me.... FTW became good friends with those guys in the process too, and can pick up the phone and call my sales guy anytime with questions...

Scott, what's up homey......
