Default Detours USA Winch Bumper?

Wanting to put one on my 2000 XJ Limited and liked the way this looks.... also like the fact it has two shackle points so I can use it that way until I get the $ for a winch.... anyone have any experience with these?

Thanks.

For that much money, I'd be more inclined to get a real front bumper with a mounting area. It might be a bit more, but your getting a lot more. Those stock bumpers will bend real quick.

The Detours stuff is high quality and though as can be.

I have their rear bumper and keep getting compliments on the fit, looks and beef...

The Detours backbone has very little to do with the factory bumper. It's not mounted to it, so the winch will not add any stress to the bumper. If I remember correctly it is mounted to the unibody, goes all the way back to the steering box bolts & is extremely sturdy. Give Mark a call or PM him here on the boards (think his name here is Detours) - he'll be happy to explain to you. The backbone is a viable alternative to a full bumper, especially if you want to keep that factory look.

Take off the facory bumper, mount up the backbone, put the factory bumper back on.
