1998 jeep cherokee dash gauge failure. if I press on dash near gauge cluster
gauges will start working momentarily then fail again. any ideas or suggestions how to repair or where to take it for repair (phoenix az area)

Take the cluster out clean your connections then put sine dialectic grease on the connections and see if it fixes the problem. My 98 did the same thing

Does it say " no bus" when they stop working? If so, check the write up/how to section. There's a good write up on this.

This may be a totally unrealated problem, but i had an issue where the gauges would just go out and would come back on by themselves. Most of the time while I was driving down the road. Sometimes my lights would go out to. It turned out to be the front post on the Power distribution center was loose and would jump. It actually melted the cover.

Just a thought, might be worth looking at.
